Re: Movies

Well....point of video was to show off modified combat system and usefulness of RIF disarm.

H2w system: it is a relict from early h2w development, it is NOT part of those TRAM modifications. Only Swat has it (he was my guinea pig). As I said in some thread: until I have time so I can rewrite H2W system so it is as light on engine as possible + I mix it with animations, consider it as if H2W NEVER existed. Maybe think off something even better. I would be glad for that.

And video was recored in "hybrid edition" ^_^. It is just Level0 which contains all TRAMs/TRACs and majority of sounds. No other changes are done (no new stuff), so I can experiment/mod easily. For this video, I only mixed in my TRAM modifications and recombined again.

P.S.: And that Muro's combo: my invention when I was modifying throws. Run throw is shortened a bit so Muro can stop in distance where he can still reach thrown enemy. He is not alone with that ability, there are now more characters who can add extra hit before victim of throw collapses to the ground, it adds to the combat system. And it is not as cheap as it looks, considering that front throws now deal less damage.  Examples:

Tanker: 3 knees + quickly some mid/low aiming attack

Konoko: Back rifle disarm + quickly back kick

Striker: running forward throw + quickly some low attack (I find kick low the most satisfying ^_^)

Re: Movies

I wonder if we can make AI2 perform these combo: foot stomp (or willow kick) - roll to enemy's back - then perform a back throw.

These are videos so you can understand my thinking:
-Barabus:
-Konoko (or Brutal Konoko):
It seems that her willow kick is hard to make a combo sad

Can we do it by modifying the Melee Profile?

Re: Movies

hi, it's been a while since I visited the forum. I made a video about a jumping glitch in Oni. . Notice how I jump off at mid air and land back on the platform(well, in most cases big_smile) yeah, I know the quality sux. I also used a few cheats(as you can very probably see), but the glitch is not from any of the cheats.

Really? You know what causes it? Can you please tell me? I've always been curious why does this glitch occur. I mean, I know most of the glitches in the game and why do they occur, but this one has always been a mystery to me.

Re: Movies

Well I haven't tested my suspicion, but it sounds about right.

Imagine a small beachball sized sphere that is attached below Konoko's pelvis where her feet go when she is standing still. This is called a collision sphere (IIRC). When you run off a cliff, you can still jump as long as the sphere is touching the floor.

Sorry if thats not clear.

Hmmm...in the TCTF level, the civillians keep dying continuously...
I hope I didn't mess something up with that port...I don't recall anymore.

Yes, you did. smile You put a civilian (or two?) with 1 base HP on the TCTF team. As OTA "kills off" characters with 1 HP, this causes problems. tongue I've known about it for about a month, never remembered to fix it. sad

I hate fighting in crowds. Right as a finish one move against someone, another hits me right as I get vulnerable. smile

Re: Movies

Yeah I generally enjoy the less packed levels. Sadly the only one like that is the state building which is the level I play the most. The characters are spread around nicely and combat feels a lot more personal while still allowing big scraps to break out.

I wonder, does anyone have any plans to make more arenas or different areas in the existing ones?

Re: Movies

Crowds are always challenge me. I don't use the Devil Spinning Kick very often but I enjoy using back kick, crouch sweep and twister kick very much. I use the 'hit-and-run' tactic very often too. It's always funny when I pushed someone back by a kick then the others keep catching me miserably. big_smile

I think we can change respawn flags. Of course, we must find some other flags that we think it's good.

(there aren't any arenas for the level 7, the ACC (exterior). Why don't you try to make some?)

Re: Movies

I find the Devil Spin Kick hurts more than it helps in a crowd fight.  I usually get hit by someone as I finish the attack, before I can dodge.  That's why I don't do crowd fights; instead, I run away so my enemies are drawn out in a line; then I turn, attack the one in front, and run again.  I learned that tactic from watching Rurouni Kenshin big_smile

P.S.: I guess it's ironic that I'm working on a script that is all about fighting a crowd of enemies at once.  But it's going to be a different kind of challenge from the usual crowd fight -- more fun, in my opinion.
