Just a test of sorts. This is one of the things that is used the most often...so here you are!
http://gumby.oni2.net/GUI/LevelRecombine%20v1.1.exe
(Windows only...)
Just select the level and click recombine. If you want to be odd, you can type in the number of the level...but you can only do one at a time! (Unless you use "all levels"). The prompt at the bottom should be the default directory of Oni...if it isn't tell me and I will fix it. You can change where the path is by typing it in yourself or clicking "browse" and finding your Oni.exe...
Erm. No bugs to speak of. Unless you don't have AE installed...that would create problems...I would like to be able to embed a sort of output screen (like you see in many installers) so that you can see things are running without having the cmd windows pop up...
Also, tell me if you see an "O" icon in both the desktop and in the top left corner...

Congrats on the GUI. Can you post a screenshot of it.

erm. I suppose.
Also, can I get someone to test it? The first person I sent it to said it didn't work, but I didn't have time to troubleshoot at the time.
It worked for me fine...
ALSO! IS NOT DEMO COMPATIBLE!...I can make an option for selecting the demo, but it will have to wait.

Hmm...
The good news: I can see the icons.
The bad news: It isn't recompiling the levels.
Maybe the program doesn't take the new path?

What exactly this software will do for us?
I've tried it but I didn't see anything happened.
(It seems that we can't put an attachment in this topic)

Gumby: It may have to do with the location of your app, relative to the location of onisplit. Where do you have your app located? With my GUI, it has to be in the Oni folder for it to work.
Offline
Ok, fixed it. Or at least it should be . Just redownload using the same link
Things I did:
1. fixed the location not updating (main problem)
2. made it say oni.exe at the end to reduce confusion
3. Enabled "Console". This way you can see what Onisplit is doing, or if you get an error message
edt: my app uses a string for the path that is changable using the path box or the browse button. does the Mac version use a path relative to the GUI?
Chelo: No. This is for those with AE already installed...
Maybe coming some day is a version that automatically installs edition for you (downloading, iunzipping and installing). It is really easy with AutoIt (the language this is coded in).

Gumby: Yes, onisplit needs to be at a specific location relative to the Mac GUI. Basically, my GUI calls the onisplit commands as shell scripts.
Offline
Why not just have there be an option to specify the location of Onisplit?
...and mine calls it as a shell script too...

Because I'm lazy???
I'm interested to see how you will program the various export and import features, you may teach me something.

I'm insterested to see how I am going to do it too. I have an idea or two, but we'll see. I have to figure out how to properly read\split up strings

Hmm. Do you think it would be a good idea to combine import and export into one window\tab?
So you would have an input, from which the GUI will get any files (multiselect too) and automatically read the filename and get from that what you are trying to do (obviously, you are exporting .oni files, and importing .xml files, etc.), and act accordingly. The only problem I can think of is the mess of options that would have to be fit on the page. Hmm.

Gumby: That's the challenge of designing the GUI. This is what I have so far:
http://wiki.oni2.net/AE_talk:Anniversary_Edition_Tools
The actual window size is about 950 pixels wide and 500 tall
Options are difficult to handle, both export and import.

Well unlike you I can get tabs to work. I need to see what options I need to have...
