Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Why would you need to move the ONCCs into UpgradedCharacters?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Strange. I'm sure the package contains all the file I modded. Still taunt doesn't work? Let me check it for while. So wait.

@Gumby: Because as Ire requested, I added some HP for the SWAT. I took the ONCC files in the "UpgradedONCCs" package, so that's why.

@EdT: I will post the package to the thread later.

@Ire: I downloaded the package I uploaded and the taunt works fine to me. Are you sure you did nothing wrong?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

I uninstalled the old 5200. Then I put in the 9800 , went to level_0 and put in those two extra files, ran the AE installer, checked the box with modified TCTF and clicked install.

Well other things do work (like neck snapping while being stunned).

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

Then did you enable the developer mode, change Konoko to SWAT black ops, and press Ctrl?

Same, no response from the taunt system

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

I was near an enemy I changed to Black ops via Shapeshifter amnd thedayismine cheats, pressing ctrl (taunt) resulten in the same taunt. Love_Oni why don't you upload the pack again ? It might work (in case you misplaced some files or something)

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

The taunts works for me.

Also, couldn't you added a level0_characters into your package and put the upgraded ONCC files in there?  I'm sure they would override the versions in the Upgraded ONCC package, is that correct, Gumby?

Re: Anniversary Edition Release! (2009-07)

I. Preparation
  -First, prepare to work with OniSplit. This step is the same for all OniSplit-related modifications:

  1. Go to Start\Programs\Accessories and copy the file "Command Prompt" to your Edition\install folder.

  2. Right-click the file "Command Prompt.exe" in your Edition\install folder, select Properties. In the "Start in" box, type the address of your Edition\install folder. For example: "E:\Oni\Edition\install". Press OK.

  -Make sure there is a file "OniSplit.exe" in your Edition\install folder.

  3. Copy the files needing to be modded to your Edition\install folder

  4. Open the file "Command Prompt.exe" in your Edition\install folder, type:

onisplit.exe -extract:xml xml "need modding files' names"

  -Now you're ready to mod.  smile

II. Modding:
  -In this case, we will mod the taunt sound so it can play various sounds.
  -The files that need modding will be:
   +level0_Sounds\"OSBDc17_99_21tctfswat.grp.oni" and
   +level0_Sounds\"OSBDc17_99_23blackopsswat.grp.oni"

  1. Now do the steps I.3 and I.4 with those files' names above.
  *Note: For faster work, using the command:

onisplit.exe -extract:xml xml *.oni

... will extract all .oni files from your Edition\install folder to xml folder.

  2. Open the file xml\"OSBDc17_99_21tctfswat.grp.xml", you will see a part of the file like this:

            <Permutation>
                <Weight>10</Weight>
                <Volume>
                    <Min>1</Min>
                    <Max>1</Max>
                </Volume>
                <Pitch>
                    <Min>1</Min>
                    <Max>1</Max>
                </Pitch>
                <Sound>c17_99_21tctfswat.aif</Sound>
            </Permutation>

copy that part, put the prompt to the end of </Permutation>, like this:

</Permutation>|

... press Enter, paste the part, do it 5 times.

  3. Now there are 6 parts like the first part in the file. Notice the line "<Sound>c17_99_21tctfswat.aif</Sound>" in the first part. Now you should change the lines of the rest 5 parts in order to make each of 6 parts have one of these 6 lines

   +<Sound>c17_99_21tctfswat.aif</Sound>
   +<Sound>c17_99_25blackopsswat.aif</Sound>
   +<Sound>c18_73_11tctfswat.aif</Sound>
   +<Sound>c18_74_11tctfswat.aif</Sound>
   +<Sound>c18_73_13blackopsswat.aif</Sound>
   +<Sound>c18_74_13blackopsswat.aif</Sound>

  -After that, save the file. The first thing is done.

  4. Open the file xml\"OSBDc17_99_23blackopsswat.grp.xml". Do steps II.2 and II.3 the same with it. Save the file. The second thing is done.

III. Finishing:
  1. Open "Command Prompt.exe", type in:

onisplit.exe -create oni xml\"need converting files' names"

For faster work, type:

onisplit.exe -create oni xml\*.xml

... and it will convert all .xml files from xml folder to oni folder. Beware the overwriting.

  2. Create a mod package. Instruction:
  -In this case, you just put the 2 .oni files in my package\oni\level0_Final\level0_Sounds.

Done!

*Ops, I just realize that the folder's name in my package is only "level0_Sound", it lacks the letter "s" in the end. I think that is the reason causing the problem.

Indeed, if you misnamed a subfolder, it would only work on Macs. wink

love_Oni: Your instructions are easy to understand.  They should be put on the wiki as a tutorial on modding Oni.

can you upload the non misspelled pack big_smile? If it won't work, well, I'm pulling up my sleeves and going to mod.

Hm... It's not so hard to fix that. Open the folder of my package, find the folder 98000MTCS\oni\level0_Final\"level0_Sound" and change its name to "level0_Sounds".

Anyway if the mod still work for you I think you should give your hand a try to mod. If you can do it then you can do more modding things then.
