I'm trying to add weapons to levels for a package I have in mind
I have a 2 part question
to add weapons I have to modify the BINACJBOWeapon file right ?
so I thought it would be easier to extract that file from each level I want to modify using Onispli command instead of converting all the dat to oni.
So I used this command:
-export:BINACJBOWeapon D:\Temp\Oni "D:\Games\Oni\Oni Game\AE\GameDataFolder\level1_Final.dat"
I'm getting a BINACJBOWeapon.oni file in the folder I specified so that's a good sign .. but when I convert that file to xml it's empty it only contains this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<Oni>
<Objects />
</Oni>
shouldn't it have references to all weapons in that level ? I tried for other levels with same result .. what did I do wrong :\
edit: I tried converting the BINACJBOWeapon file from Edt's boss battle package (direct oni to xml conversion no dat ) with same result .. could this be another onisplit bug ?

Yes. -- It's also possible to spawn weapons at a FLAG (weapon_spawn WeaponClass Flag).
I tried for other levels with same result
Bad luck I guess. Be sure that the file is not empty. Level 1 and Edt's 23 are empty.
For other new or modified levels you can also throw the file into a hex-editor* to see if it holds content or not.
* To change the language: Optionen > Einstellungen > Sprache > Sprachpaket
Change "Deutsch (Standard)" to "English".

I tried level 1 and 2 and 4 and 6 all were empty level 3 wasn't ... and that's why I don't play the lottery
