Can anyone please help me with AE?
I have downloaded this mod and to be honest have no idea how to work it.

Did you download the AE itself, too? Check out the Anniversary Edition forum for the link to d/l and install it. You can drop the Konoko HD mod folder into Edition/install/packages/ and then run the AE Installer to set everything up.

I did the installing part. but after that do you run the .exe file from the original game or a file from the edition folder?

it dont work. nothing comes up. when i try to open run_full a black screen flashes twice and thats it. with the run_wind nothing as well. they might be not on the topic but the point is that Oni.exe dont do anything

And btw, my Edition/VanillaDats is empty. is it suppose to be like that?

No, actually it's not. Can you post the Globalize.log file from the Edition/install/ folder? (And, just checking, is the Edition folder inside your main Oni installation's folder?)

yeah that was the same problem i had, it wasn't in the actual games folder.
although i probably shouldn't ask this here, but i will to avoid making another topic.
i just recently beat the game and after the fights over the program closes itself, no ending cinematic is played, is that supposed to happen?

I think that means that you have no Bink DLL installed (since the Daodan replaces binkw32.dll). There's a replacement for the original Bink DLL that you can get from Gumby which allows you to play the movies again.

I fixed the problem. Basically what i did was i re-installed the game, put the "Edition" folder in it, ran the AE installer, set up the mods i wanted and everything was working perfectly. The Oni.exe is now working.
Thanks for the help Iritscen and oxe161

And Iritscen you were right, the Edition folder was not in the main Oni installation folder

Glad we could help. Yeah, that seems to be the most common mistake; maybe the next AE will have a way of telling users that it needs to be in the Oni folder.

Heh, it's kinda funny to see how the installation method of AE progressed; from .bat files, to an actual installer. Maybe we'll see a fully functioning auto-installer, in the future!

or better yet, a way to install it without it having to be in the vanilla folder.
especially for some people like me who are still adjusting to the original release being called vanilla when i just call it the standard edition.

It doesn't matter what you call it. In any case, allowing the Edition to be installed outside the Oni folder will require a significant amount of code being rewritten. But it is a good idea.

Iritscen: it's amazing this program even works
Gumby: i know
Iritscen: and that statement applies to my code, not just yours

yeah but vanilla reminds me of pudding.
oh, while your here, can i get that replacement for the original Bink DLL from you that Iratescreen mentioned?

If you're running AE you don't need it.

ok, then how do i make it so that the game doesn't close itself after the last fight?
