Heh. You're on the right track; the two quotes you mention are not quite it. Keep looking, you're close
I told you that even if Shinatama was still 100% subordinate to human commands she'd still have ignored "Emergency Override Griffin Alpha Zero".
(when and if the answer comes up here, I think we could muse about the hidden meaning of this whole episode...)
Looking forward to this...

Well, the abosulte fastest way to gain altitude is to fire an SBG, wait till it stops moving altogether, stand on top of the idle gredade, and let fly. You'll die, but you get great height...if you set invincibility, you fly...
And that screenshot just proves thata Griffin didn't read his Comptroller's logs. He should have, or maybe he thought they didn't suspend it yet? lol.

ironic, eh?

Alleluia! Thanks a lot Tosh: I had almost given up hope
As for Griffin's (lack of) awareness of the suspended emergency overrides: read the headers of that fateful mail exchange (starting HERE)
"D. Joost" sent his mail to both Griffin and "P. Tamte", with High priority. So Griffin of course read that in due time, and was aware of Joost's POV.
However, Tamte sent his reply to Joost only, and with Low priority. Thus Griffin wasn't notified of Tamte's initiative at all. Not directly, anyway.
I don't think Tamte overlooked anything: he deliberately avoided a direct confrontation with Griffin, who was guaranteed to deny his initiative.
More, later. Have you seen who the two Bungie folks were? And what could be the hidden meaning of this whole episode?
@ Mommy: Yeah, grenade-jumping makes you hurl like anything... I guess.
I doubt it can get you across larger pits than technical dash-jumping, though.

How do you know all this? Were you scanning their eMails?
Was one of the staff members called P. Tamte? I dunno....

HERE are the full quotes relative to the episode.
Unlike certain terminal readings, all the data listed there is visible ingame.
The mail headers (sender, recipient, priority) are there, so I'm not inventing anything.
(Mai, of course, either managed to hack the mail server, or walked up to terminals that hadn't been shut down by either of the people involved)
David Joost was Bungie's director of sales (and appears in Oni's credits under Bungie Publishing). Peter Tamte was Bungie's executive vice-president (and does not appear in Oni's credits).
The hidden meaning of this episode (purely speculative) is that the real-world Tamte was more or less directly responsible for rushing Oni's development while "cutting down costs on something systemic". "Keep in mind that Security & Facilities is already way over-budget" and all that...
I just think that this terminal might not have a purely plotwise meaning, but also a private "wink" at the real-world "P. Tamte"; not a friendly wink.
Heh. This speculation is obviously off-topic, and possibly paranoid: just ignore it. It just sort of grew on me while I was looking at the actual, plotwise trivia.
Anyway, looks like the hardest Oni trivia of all time is finally consummated. Any ideas of what we can do next?
Sevens, maybe?

well, as for a game we could play, i have an idea.
You give a hint, and then people try to guess what it is...
well maybe I should elaborate:
for example I say.... "I'm under a fan."
starting off with vauge hints and adding more untill someone guesses it. then someone else picks a place and we all try to figure out where it is.
now, "i'm under a fan" is quite vague, i'm not sure if there's more then one fan in the game, but there probibly is. so i'll give more hints.
"yellow boxes are stacked infront of me"*
still too vague
"to my left is a door"
better but still not there
"a nearby machine is red"
so the clues would go on untill someone guessed the location.
so what do you think?
or should i start a different thread for this?
for the answer, if you want we could be looking for the xyz numbers
useing the where comand in dev mode.
or it could just be the name of the level or something. whatever.
*this could be a problem, because in my opinion they're acutally more biege or that tan-ish color then yellow....
so why say 'yellow'? 'cause i'm lazy.
but anyway, it convinently points out a problem that we may have trouble with opinion on details.
not sure how to avoid this though.

Well, I'm colorblind, so beige and tan-ish don't mean a lot to me.
But I think I figured out where you are nonetheless
Of course this should go into another thread than Trivia.
I have another idea of a fun thread: illustrations for chapter titles.
For example, everyone can go and look up images that fit in well with the catchphrase ENGINES OF EVIL.
Not Oni-related, just any image that illustrates those few words, in a completely free fashion.
Chapter titles can be more or less appealing to illustrate: I think CAT AND MOUSE would be pretty popular
One could also try and "remember" where certain quotes come from. Like:
I can't believe I KNOW that! Maybe that means I'm a nerd?
Who said that and on what occasion?

Going back to the "sevens" trivia, there is the "Power of Seven" artist for the the Oni Soundtrack.
I can't believe I KNOW that! Maybe that means I'm a nerd?
I found that quote!

in the vein of sevens,
you can have 6 ammo clips/energy cells, plus the one already in your gun makes seven total.
but that's probibly pushing it.

Hey... not bad... Seven clips at a time... one down, six to go...
Works for hypos, too, except then the "gun" is Konoko's body
Too much of a coincidence, I'd say. Nice one!
Without pushing it that far, you can look for Bungie numbers
(such that the sum of the digits equals seven, e.g. 43, or 25)
(or such that the sum of the digits of the sum of the digits... er)
You can get carried away with those rather easily, but there are a few pretty obvious ones.
"Undisputedly deliberate" Bungie numbers
I'm thinking of one very special Bungie number right now.
Hint: it's not 25, but there's a 25 about it nonetheless.

Why don't we do this but give a visual. I remember --I think Mango said this -- "I could tell you were you were by the floor tiles." So, how about a close shot of an area and you guess where that is? Probably easy for many of you though.
So--where's my screen shot from?

You're in the atmospheric conversion center (interior), just before one of the rooms where you have to cross those long briges that have that blue glowing thing going on, it's next to the door.

hee maybe the one who knows the answer should take a screenshot of his own: same place, wider field of view.

Here's an easy one, where can you find this person? There are 2 places.

One of them is on a sign in Rooftops. Pretty sure I've seen the other too... maybe the labs? Anyway, I don't have immediate access to Oni at the moment, so can't make a pic.

Mango--yes, she's on a billboard in Rooftops but also on a billboard in the TCTF level (6). Mai rides by the poster on the way into the garage - on the right hand side.

The quality of the few textures that look like Aiko's make me sick: to think that all the environment could be so detailed...
@previous trivia: for the hell of it, what could be that person's name?

Yo, new trivia. This one is fun. Who's the bald guy in THESE TWO pictures?
I think Mango said this -- "I could tell you were you were by the floor tiles."
IIRC, that was Fluffy.
