Re: Movies

Can I join(t) the discussion ? I think it is great idea, because it is useless to be able to regenerate when enemy can come close without any danger.
I have no problems with standard Barabus, because once his health drops down, he starts backpedaling/trying to regen and I abuse it (running throws, slides, gunfire). With modificated particles (I have played only my version, sorry Gumby, I will wait for final product from you ^_^) it is suddenly harder because if you try to stop near him and/or throw him, you are one leg in the grave. So you cannot abuse the fact he can't move while he is healing.
It is more logical in terms of combat as well. Action which restricts your movement but gives you no protection is nonsense IMO. This way you can still attack him, but due to the particles flying around you have to resort yourself to hit n' run tactics (and smarter ones will save WMC ammo for this moment, Oni is not only about h2h ^_^)

Here is a hint, press "Q". TCTF provides you with a sidearm for a reason smile

And Loser, I can almost guarntee your particles are more thought out than mine. Still haven't tested yours, sorry sad

Er... As you've said in the previous post, now I think giving Barabas the new regeneration is a good idea. So does that mean I can only hurt him while he's healing by using guns? Because in the video which shows the new regeneration, looks like the regeneration caused lots of damage to Konoko, which can say it's deadly.

The only thing I don't like very much in this improvement is the color. I think purple is not suitable for Barabas (a big, strong man with the purple color makes me sick sad!)

Re: Movies

you can see Iritscen's idea at work.

Iritscen, my left hand is raised into the air under 45° - and two fingers up. Awesome work ^_^.

NOTE: This is just DEMO. There is still problem that barrel is completely untouched. No, "glass barrel" is not solution.

NOTE2: Until we can export ONIE.BINA as XML, I strongly DIScourage you to try this stuff. Too much handwork. Wait for XML version (NEOs work), where impacts will be decoded and output as whole blocks one after another, not like in BINA, where parts of one impact are scattered throughout whole file .
                                                                                             Loser

P.S.: After all, it seems that glass shattering (part of AKEV disappears and is replaced with PAR3 stuff) is hardcoded. Too bad for us. But maybe I am wrong. But then, particle  Glass_shard and materials Glass, Unbreak_Glass are only one mentioned in exe. So all other materials serve for impact purposes and can be added/remved, but Glass is hardocded due to its disappearing effect.

Re: Movies

But, unbreakable glass doesn't ever disappear... because it's not breakable.  So why would they have hardcoded it along with breakable glass to have some special disappearing effect?  And more importantly, if that's really what they're hardcoded for, and since unbreakable glass doesn't need to disappear, why can't we replace the material Unbreak_Glass with our own barrel material?  ExplodeBarrel has the same number of letters... ^_^

Nice!

My barrel is...coming. I am 90 percent done, I've just been slow about fixing the TRAM so you can't intersect with the barrel.

Re: Movies

These aren't the highest quality, but I didn't feel they were worth uploading to YouTube; they're just short curiosities.

What happens here?  Konoko has a seizure and falls down, and I actually lose control of her for a while.  The whole time she's laying there, I'm clicking and hitting buttons.  I think I had to switch out of the app and back in to regain control (I was in windowed mode).

This is hard to see, but the Striker (who ran out of ammo) kicks me down, and as I drop my gun, he drops his, rolls forward and grabs mine in the time it takes his gun to hit the ground.  Wow, hard to compete with a computer with perfect reflexes.  I also found it interesting how he knew he could hit me by shooting over the hood of the car afterwards; he didn't come around the car like it was a simple box shape, he knew he had a clear shot over the top.

Mukade freaks me out with a smart move here (coincidence, I'm sure... or is it?).  He may have gotten lucky with his teleport, but he interrupted my health recovery with that quick catch-up and attack.

Re: Movies

In the first one, it looks like Muro attacked you with his "Stealth Lighting" move, I'm sure there is a correct Kenshin name for that move :-)

The second is cool, it shows that the AI are not so dumb after all!

3rd, its Mukade... what do you expect?

Re: Movies

It's really hard to tell what happens in the first movie, even without the unfortunate compression it got when I uploaded it (next time I'll use a better method), but what I think happened is that Muro actually started to use a move on me at the moment he got repelled, and so Konoko reacted to the attack even though it had stopped.  What confused me at the time was that he seemed to be too far away to reach me, plus I don't recognize Konoko's reaction; what attack causes that?  "Stealth Lightning"?  Not familiar with that one.

Re: Movies

"Stealth Lightning"?  Not familiar with that one.

Because I made it up!  Muro moved so fast that you could only see the result.

Probably, like you said it was an animation that got interrupted, but Konoko continued with it.

You're exactly right, that looks like the reaction to the neck cracker. Doesn't explain why he couldn't move afterwards though.

It may have been a bug related to running in windowed mode... dunno.  Since it hasn't happened again I'm not too concerned.

Re: Movies

I notice there is a new combo for Muro: neck break, then back-kick. Funny! big_smile

In 2:57, I saw the TCTF SWAT fall and he hit the wall. Is the h2w system also included in this modification?

And... did you record the video in the edition? I just ask it because I saw Muro can run, not only dash; and many enemies lied on the floor for a bit long time after being hit.
